Salary: $145,000 - $210,000

Wilson Sonsini, a top-ranked law firm, is seeking a self-motivated and intellectually curious Patent Agent with a background in life sciences. This individual will work closely with the firm's clients in all aspects of patent prosecution and will have the opportunity to collaborate with attorneys across the firm's offices, serving both US and international clients. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a related field and be qualified to sit for the USPTO patent bar exam. Previous law firm or industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate invention disclosures
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications
- Conduct landscape studies and analyze third party patents
- Collaborate with patent attorneys and receive formal and informal training and mentorship
- Participate in the firm's law school program while working as a patent agent

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a life sciences related field such as cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or pharmacology
- Qualified to sit for the USPTO patent bar exam
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills and ability to balance and prioritize work projects
- Previous law firm or industry experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range of $145,000 - $210,000, based on step level
- Discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded
