Job Summary:

The Commercial Counsel will join the ESRT legal team and provide support to various business teams, including Observatory, property management, leasing, and corporate teams. This individual will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, managing outside counsel for litigation matters, and advising on legal issues. The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of combined experience in a law firm and in-house, with exposure to the real estate industry.

Responsibilities:

- Advise business teams on legal issues, with support from outside counsel when needed
- Review and negotiate commercial contracts, including design and construction agreements, location agreements, licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and vendor engagement agreements
- Manage outside counsel for litigation matters related to landlord-tenant and contract disputes
- Assist in the development of forms and a contract management system
- Additional responsibilities as directed

Requirements:

- . and admitted to practice in New York
- 8+ years of combined experience in a law firm and in-house
- Experience as the lead attorney negotiating agreements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Business minded and organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
