Law Firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join their team. As a Personal Injury Paralegal, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support for their cases from presuit through trial. This includes daily interaction with existing and potential clients, ordering medical records, obtaining documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions, negotiating case settlements with insurance carriers, maintaining organized case files, preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, e-filing all court documents, communications with clients, court, counsel, and others, and other tasks as requested by the attorney.

Qualifications for this position include an Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, 2+ years of presuit or litigation experience, completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program, and experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas. The successful candidate must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and have extensive computer and database expertise.

Job Description

Law Firm is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join their team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with talented attorneys providing support for their cases from presuit through trial.

Responsibilities:

- Daily interaction with existing and potential clients, via telephone and in person
- Order medical records from providers and communicate with clients and providers during the course of treatment
- Obtain documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions
- Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances
- Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiate a deduction of outstanding medical balances with providers
- Work directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files
- Maintain organized case files
- Prepare comprehensive demands and assemble support for submission to carriers
- Interact with attorneys and present case synopsis when required
- Manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney
- Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda
- E-file all court documents in state and federal court
- Communications with clients, court, counsel, and others
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation
- Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses
- Draft and server summons
- Coordinate and summarize depositions
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits
- Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court
- Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics)
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Aid attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
- Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Witness preparation
- Assisting with case settlements
- Other tasks as requested by the attorney

Qualifications:

- Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred)

- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred)
