Job Description:

As a Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most recognizable and iconic brands in the world. Our Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group is regarded as one of the most sophisticated and full-service practices, serving clients nationally and globally. We handle a wide range of benefits and compensation issues and have advised on cutting-edge developments that have impacted national policy.

The ideal candidate will have at least two to four years of benefits experience in private practice, with knowledge of qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. Experience in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability is a plus. Strong writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

For Colorado applicants only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act): The starting salary for associate positions in our Denver office is $190,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Associates are eligible to participate in Michael Best’s associate bonus program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions. This position is considered full-time and is therefore eligible to participate in employer-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the firm's 401k plan.
