High Value Litigation Paralegal at Leading Law Firm in Southfield, Michigan Job Description: As a High Value Litigation Paralegal at our leading law firm in Southfield, Michigan, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our attorneys before, during, and after trials. With over 10 years of litigation experience and extensive knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, and court procedures, you will be responsible for preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, and managing case files. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: - Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda - E-file all court documents in state and federal court - Communicate with clients, court, counsel, and other parties involved in the case - Conduct legal research and factual investigation - Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses - Coordinate and summarize depositions - Draft and serve summons - Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices - Assist attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests - Gather relevant information from various sources - Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties - Prepare trial binders and exhibits - Assist with case settlements - Perform administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics Qualifications: - - 10+ years of litigation experience (preferred) - Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred) - Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas (preferred) - Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings - Extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook - Typing speed of at least 35 wpm Benefits: - Medical and dental insurance - 401(k) plan - Paid time off and holidays Equal Opportunity Statement: Our law firm is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
