## Law Firm Seeks Experienced Litigation Paralegal Law Firm is seeking a full-time employee to perform a variety of paralegal and administrative duties. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of legal terminology and complex documents, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to utilize a computer including use of a Windows operating system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. **Minimum Qualifications:** - Ability to read and write at levels necessary in a medium-sized law firm and perform math calculations as normally required through completion of high school - Formal legal training or at least one year of on-the-job training to have gained expertise in substantive legal work - Ability to utilize a computer including use of a Windows operating system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as normally attained through formal training or on the job experience - Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively by telephone and in person using ordinary courtesy and discretion - Ability to work at least 37 1/2 hours per week in a law firm environment and provide own transportation to and from work - Ability to work hours in addition to the regular work schedule as needed **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** - Utilize a computer to produce legal documents, draft complaints and answers, routine notices and affidavits, memoranda, and correspondence according to prevailing Knox Best Practices - Follow attorney instruction and produce accurate work. Proofread all work to assure documents are free of spelling, grammatical, and typographical errors - Establish, organize, and maintain attorney trial notebooks, document indexes and lists - Maintain good client relationships by handling all calls, emails, and visitors appropriately - Locate and confer with witnesses, experts, and resource people. Arrange for expert witness inspections and obtain approval from counsel of record and specified parties - Maintain effective and efficient calendar and deadline systems utilizing appropriate firm technology - Arrange for court reporters and other purchased services - Register attorney(s) for seminars. Review and outline depositions, index and summarize documents - Utilize computer and appropriate software to perform tasks efficiently and according to Knox Best Practices - Conduct conflict checks for new clients and accurately open billing files for all matters. Prepare paper files and maintain file organization - Enter attorney and personal time into the time and billing software in time for month end closing. Proof, review, and edit prebills - Participate in training programs to learn and incorporate new computer skills and operational methods to meet prevailing Knox Best Practices - Possess an understanding of attorney’s practice and actively participate in the flow of work to proactively assist attorneys - Perform all other tasks as assigned by attorneys or the Chief Executive Officer Law Firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their team.
