Summary:

Husch Blackwell LLP, a top full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, is seeking a Director of Docketing Services to lead their docketing teams for the IP and Litigation practice specialty centers. This is a full-time position that can be filled remotely or in any of their locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive legal docketing experience and be able to provide thought leadership and development to this function as the senior leader of the team.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise the docketing teams and manage all docket-related services, including calendaring and docketing in the litigation and intellectual property docket systems.
- Provide direction, development, and oversight of docketing services across the firm.
- Serve as a resource and subject matter expert to firm leadership on docketing services and procedures.
- Identify and implement best practices and technologies for docketing services.
- Build relationships with attorneys and collaborate with practice specialty center leaders to ensure compliance with established rules and procedures.
- Audit docket entries for accuracy and maintain the integrity of docketing databases and systems.
- Proactively address docketing concerns and provide training and support to docketing teams.
- Develop and oversee compliance with policies and procedures for docketing teams.
- Participate in professional organizations to stay updated on rule changes and procedures.
- Manage departmental budgets and oversee hiring, firing, and promotions within the docketing teams.
- Work on ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 10 years of legal docketing experience in a law firm environment.
- Extensive experience managing a team and proficiency with docket databases.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in docketing rules, practices, and procedures.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple projects.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Non-hierarchical approach and ability to build consensus.
- Strong integrity and maturity in dealing with people and confidential information.
- Ability to travel if needed.
