Founded in 1978, they rank among the top 200 law firms identified by The American Lawyer and 53rd in The National Law Journal's survey of the nation's largest law firms. **Job Qualifications** In order to be considered for the position, the ideal candidate must have the following qualifications: - 5+ years of Litigation experience, with insurance defense preferred - Prior experience with litigation procedures and processes, e-filing, and creating table of authorities a plus - Familiarity with State and Federal court procedures and rules - Experience with filing briefs (Table of Contents and Table of Authorities) - Must be a team player - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment - Able to prioritize and multitask / organize yourself to be able to concurrently manage several tasks - Able to work independently / self-motivated - Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) - Experience using a Document management System a must – familiarity with iManage a plus - Strong written and verbal communication skills **Job Responsibilities** The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: - Prepare legal filings: format documents, pull exhibits, proofread and redact documents - Draft and send routine correspondence - Prepare court forms such as notices, motions, and other simple pleadings - E-file court filings in both State and Federal Court - Open new matters and process matter for closing - Document management and organization, ensuring documents are properly saved to Document Management System - Become familiar with court rules and agency rules and filing procedures as well as client guidelines - Calendaring: maintain attorney calendars and ensure all dates/deadlines, conferences, and depositions are calendared - Manage expense reimbursement - Retrieve court decisions from Westlaw - Creating, maintaining and updating contact sheets/ Docket sheets - Manage bills for third party vendors, process check requests and follow up with accounting **Compensation and Benefits** Wilson Elser offers an excellent compensation and benefits package for their Legal Secretary position.
