Legal Assistant The candidate will be transcribing, composing, formatting, editing, proofreading, and finalizing all forms of documents, correspondence, pleadings, and reports. Opening of new files, file set up and organization, preparing conflicts checks, and updating glance sheets and litigation profiles as needed. Preparing and filing of pleadings such as Appearances, Answers, and all pretrial and dispositive Motions in state and federal courts. Coordinating, maintaining, and calendaring upcoming trial dates, arbitrations, jury trials, depositions, inspections, and all corresponding status notes. Managing incoming mail, entering daily time entries, and submitting vendor invoices for payment. Maintaining attorney calendars, travel arrangements, and expense reporting. Reviewing and editing prebills per client guidelines. Should have 5 years of experience assisting attorneys in complex litigation areas such as health care law, white-collar federal litigation, government enforcement & compliance, and commercial litigation. Experience with both State and Federal courts, including knowledge of CM/ECF filing. Strong attention to detail in all work. Ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff and clients. Forward-thinking, organized, and a team player. Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgment with minimal direction. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with iManage & Prolaw is a plus.
