Law Firm is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support for our cases from presuit through trial. This includes daily interaction with existing and potential clients, via telephone and in person, ordering medical records from providers, obtaining documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions, interacting with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances, negotiating case settlements with insurance carriers, preparing legal documents, conducting legal research and factual investigations, drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and aiding attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, 2+ years of presuit or litigation experience, completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program, and experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas. The candidate must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings. They must also be highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment and have extensive computer and database expertise.

Law Firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support for our cases from presuit through trial, including:

• Daily interaction with existing and potential clients, via telephone and in person.
• Ordering medical records from providers and communicating with clients and providers during the course of treatment.
• Obtaining documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions.
• Interacting with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances.
• Negotiating case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiating a deduction of outstanding medical balances with providers.
• Working directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files.
• Maintaining organized case files.
• Preparing comprehensive demands and assembling support for submission to carriers.
• Interacting with attorneys and presenting case synopsis when required.
• Managing case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney.
• Preparing legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda.
• E-filing all court documents in state and federal court.
• Communicating with clients, court, counsel, and others.
• Conducting legal research and factual investigation.
• Preparing discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses.
• Drafting and serving summons.
• Coordinating and summarizing depositions.
• Preparing trial binders and exhibits.
• Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court.
• Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics).
• Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes.
• Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
• Aid attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
• Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
• Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties.
• Witness preparation.
• Assisting with case settlements.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
• 2+ years of presuit or litigation experience (preferred).
• Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred).
• Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas (preferred).
• Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive computer and database expertise; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and type no less than 35 wpm.
