Legal Research Analyst at Law Firm: Salary and Job Description

Salary Information:

- Minimum: $88,000
- Maximum: $124,400
- Actual wage may vary based on experience and other relevant factors

Job Title:

- Legal Research Analyst

Experience Information:

- At least 5 years of experience in reference and research
- Advanced degree (MLS, MLIS) in library science or related field required

Job Description:

- Provide research support and training to attorneys, paralegals, and support departments
- Handle research requests from all offices, including standard and complex research
- Support one or more practice areas and ensure attorneys are aware of and know how to use research platforms efficiently
- Collaborate with other departments and teams on projects
- Disseminate and organize information obtained from print and electronic resources
- Monitor daily news, legislative and regulatory developments
- Deliver research training to attorneys and staff
- Stay updated on latest research resources, technologies, and search techniques
- Participate in team initiatives to promote research services
- Work beyond scheduled hours as required
- Handle additional related projects as assigned

Responsibilities:

- Provide reference, research, and support in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform in-depth legal, corporate, financial, and/or general research
- Collaborate with team members on projects
- Assist in the dissemination and organization of information
- Present and package research findings clearly and concisely
- Monitor daily news, legislative, and regulatory developments
- Deliver research training to attorneys and staff
- Stay updated on latest research resources, technologies, and search techniques
- Participate in team initiatives to promote research services
- Work beyond scheduled hours as required
- Handle additional related projects as assigned

Proficiencies:

- Expert-level knowledge in English language skills
- Advanced proficiency in Lexis, Westlaw, and other legal and business research platforms
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated and proactive with ability to work on a collaborative, service-oriented team and independently
- Highly organized
- Fundamental knowledge of legal and business research resources
- Proficient in online research and legal databases
- Knowledge of database structure and theory

Qualifications:

- At least 5 years of experience in reference and research, preferably in a law or business library
- Advanced degree (MLS, MLIS) in library science, library information science or related field required
