The firm extensively participates in campus recruitment's and job fairs. In 2011, the firm visited 31 law schools for campus interviews, while it participated in 5 job fairs in 2011. Impact Diversity Career Fair, Southeastern Minority Job Fair, Bay Area Diversity Job Fair, Lavender Law, Loyola Patent Law Job Fair are among the notable ones.
The firm encourages attorneys to handle pro bono matters. The time used for pro bono activity is treated the same as time billed to any other client for all purposes including bonuses. Pro bono work is assigned in a variety of ways, including by members of the Pro Bono Committee who serve as pro bono coordinators.
Some of the areas in which Paul Hastings has performed pro bono work in the past year include, immigrant rights, veteran rights, adoptions, children's rights, homelessness prevention, non-profit counseling, and environmental sustainability.
