Job Title: Senior Legal Specialist

Experience Information:

- Minimum of 10 years of legal or related experience required
- Paralegal certification or AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field also accepted
- Experience in Medicaid or government programs preferred

Job Description:

- Lead and support staff in providing legal services for multiple Medicaid states, enterprise-wide functions, and complex litigation
- Conduct legal research and analysis to recommend appropriate actions and next steps
- Prepare and evaluate legal documentation for problem resolution and corporate governance
- Monitor state and federal legislation and make recommendations for changes
- Represent the company at legal proceedings and meetings
- Participate in negotiations and strategizing with business and staff
- Enter information into databases and document management systems
- Handle provider contracting for Medicaid markets

Required Skills and Capabilities:

- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Skilled in the use of Excel
- Ability to work in a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office)
- Must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute of a relevant Elevance Health location
