Law Firm Seeks Patent Agent with 4-7 Years of Experience, Salary Range $130,769 to $216,879

Are you a patent agent with 4-7 years of experience? Are you looking for a dynamic and energizing environment where you can use your knowledge to shape the future? Nixon Peabody is seeking a Patent Agent II to join our team in multiple locations across the United States. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to work with top talent in a diverse and collaborative environment.

As a Patent Agent II at Nixon Peabody, you will assist with all aspects of patent research, application preparation and submission, and patent prosecution. You will have direct client interaction and provide support in patent litigation matters and business transactions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior patent professionals and manage patent portfolios with minimal attorney oversight.

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or an advanced scientific degree, and have passed the Patent Bar Exam. You should also have excellent communication skills, the ability to strategically interpret client needs, and the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workloads. Familiarity with patent litigation and an in-depth understanding of patentability and procedures are also required for this position.

Responsibilities:
- Draft and submit patent applications with limited attorney supervision
- Review and respond to communications from the USPTO and foreign patent offices
- Provide guidance and training to IP support professionals
- Support patent litigation matters and business transactions
- Conduct research and analysis, including patent and literature searches
- Mentor junior patent agents and technical specialists
- Manage deadlines and prioritize workloads
- Interact with clients throughout the patent process

Requirements:
- 4-7 years of patent agent experience
- Passed Patent Bar Exam and registered to practice before the USPTO
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or advanced scientific degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to strategically interpret client needs
- Familiarity with patent litigation
- In-depth understanding of patentability and procedures
