Law Firm is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team. ## Job Responsibilities As a Personal Injury Paralegal, you will work closely with the talented attorneys, providing support for cases from presuit through trial. Your duties will include: - Daily interaction with existing and potential clients, via telephone and in person - Ordering medical records from providers and communicating with clients and providers during the course of treatment - Obtaining documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions - Interacting with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances - Negotiating case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiating a deduction of outstanding medical balances with providers - Working directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files - Maintaining organized case files - Preparing comprehensive demands and assembling support for submission to carriers - Interacting with attorneys and presenting case synopsis when required - Managing case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney - Preparing legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda - E-filing all court documents in state and federal court - Communicating with clients, court, counsel, and others - Conducting legal research and factual investigation - Preparing discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses - Drafting and serving summons - Coordinating and summarizing depositions - Preparing trial binders and exhibits - Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and filing them with the court - Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics) - Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes - Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices - Aiding attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests - Gathering relevant information from a variety of sources - Liaising between trial teams and internal/external third parties - Witness preparation - Assisting with case settlements - Other tasks as requested by the attorney ## Qualifications - Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred) - 2+ years of presuit or litigation experience (preferred) - Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred) - Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas (preferred) - Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings - Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Extensive computer and database expertise; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and type no less than 35 wpm ## Salary and Benefits Law Firm is a leading personal injury law firm dedicated to protecting the people, not the powerful.
