McGinnis Lochridge Law Firm is seeking a highly motivated and organized Legal Secretary to join their growing team. The Legal Secretary will provide administrative support services for a group of four environmental attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling appointments, receiving and making telephone calls, opening and sorting mail, making travel arrangements, and performing other administrative duties
Scheduling and coordinating depositions, court reporters, and videographers
Inputting information into a time and billing, customer relationship management, and document management systems
Drafting, typing, formatting, and revising many different types of legal, agency, and business documents
Calendaring deadlines from incoming mail, pleadings, and hearings
E-filing in state and federal courts and making service on opposing parties
Maintaining files and indexes
Maintaining confidentiality obligations by not revealing client information

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree
Training from a business/vocational school or other legal education preferred
5 years legal secretary experience
Proficient with local, state, and federal filing rules, elementary legal procedures, and legal and business terminology
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with any enterprise time and billing system, preferably Elite and Webview
Familiar with any document management system, preferably iManage
Proficient with transcription equipment and able to transcribe
Detail oriented and able to prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure
Professional, polite, and positive client-centric attitude
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality or . Environmental Protection Agency experience preferred
