Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year Law Firm Seeking Experienced Energy and Environmental Regulatory Paralegal H1: Join Our Team as an Energy and Environmental Regulatory Paralegal at a Leading Law Firm H2: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Our Energy and Environmental Regulatory Paralegal Position The law firm of Baker Botts is currently seeking an experienced Energy and Environmental Regulatory Paralegal to join our team. As a full-service, international law firm with a deep understanding of the industries we serve, we are committed to providing our clients with creative and cost-efficient solutions. This position is based in our Austin office and offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, as well as excellent benefits. Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain client/matter files - Oversee matters before state agencies, including Public Utility Commission, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Railroad Commission of Texas, and State Office of Administrative Hearings - Analyze and report on metrics related to parties, courts, judges, motions, and litigation milestones - Prepare discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, and other legal documents - Assist with document collection and production - E-file documents in various state agencies and courts - Perform factual and legal cite checking of motions and briefs - Prepare materials and assist attorneys with court proceedings - Coordinate with external vendors for competitive bids Core Competencies: - Strong communication skills, both oral and written - Ability to work well in high-pressure environments - Excellent organization and time management skills - Experience managing and analyzing large volumes of data - Ability to work independently and anticipate needs - Strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree preferred - Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred - Minimum 6 years of experience in a large law firm environment, preferably in energy and/or environmental regulatory practice - Understanding of the litigation life cycle and procedural rules - Familiarity with Microsoft productivity tools and legal software - Ability to proofread and operate standard office equipment Physical Demands and Work Environment: - Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds - Must be able to routinely lift and carry file folders weighing up to 5-10 pounds - Must be able to spend long periods of time working at a computer - Position may require occasional travel Join Our Team: At Baker Botts, we are committed to diversity and equal opportunity employment.
