Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly qualified litigation associate with 3-5 years of experience to join our Employee Benefits group in our Minneapolis office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in both state and federal court, and possess superior research, analytical, and writing skills. The ability to manage multiple matters and a high volume of dockets is essential, as well as experience with court appearances, depositions, and ERISA litigation. Candidates should have graduated from a nationally recognized law school with excellent academic credentials and strong communication skills. Additional experience in employee benefits, employment law, or labor law is preferred, and a previous federal court clerkship is a plus.

Responsibilities:

As an Employee Benefits Litigation Associate, you will have the opportunity to represent our clients in all phases of matters related to employee benefit plans. This includes collecting delinquent employer contribution claims, handling benefit denials, subrogation and intervention claims, benefit claim appeals, and employer withdrawal liability claims. You will also appear in state and federal court, manage ongoing case work, and assist with responding to subpoenas and requests for information from plan participants and employers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of employee benefit plans, including Taft-Hartley health, retirement, annuity, and apprenticeship plans.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess superior writing skills, excellent judgment, and at least 3 years of litigation experience. A Law Degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school and a license to practice in Minnesota or timely admission to the Minnesota State Bar are also required. Excellent academic credentials are a must, and a previous federal court clerkship is preferred, but not required.
