JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Research and analyze legal issues related to labor and employment law - Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and motions for court filings - Conduct legal research and provide guidance to clients on employment law matters - Assist with workplace investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary actions - Draft and review workplace policies and procedures - Conduct employee trainings on topics such as harassment, discrimination, and other workplace issues - Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation proceedings - Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials - Collaborate with other attorneys and staff members on complex legal matters - Stay up-to-date on current labor and employment laws and regulations - Build and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients - Attend and participate in networking events and industry conferences EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record - Admission to the Colorado bar - 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation experience - Experience with traditional labor issues a plus - Strong research and writing skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS - Competitive salary range of $160,000-180,000, commensurate with experience - Significant variable compensation potential - Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and paid time off - Paid parental leave and group life and disability insurance LAW FIRM OVERVIEW Spencer Fane is a full-service law firm with over 200 attorneys across 20 offices in the Midwest, Mountain West, and Southeast regions.
