This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with ethical obligations, risk management policies, and onboarding new business for the firm. Position Responsibilities: - Review incoming conflict check submissions for new attorneys, paralegals, and staff - Create lateral folders and update spreadsheets - Communicate with recruiting, HR, and other department members regarding lateral intake - Monitor the BIC inbox and respond to inquiries about status of requests - Process and quality control intake reviews - Provide training to new hires - Conduct research projects on conflicts of interest and corporate affiliations - Assist with ethical screen database clean up - Other duties as assigned Skills and Experience: Required: - 3+ years of experience in a BIC department, legal secretary, paralegal, or executive assistant role - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications - Availability for overtime as needed - Strong computer skills Preferred: - Bachelor's degree - Paralegal certificate - Experience in a law firm or professional services environment Competencies: - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks - Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment - Punctual and reliable Benefits: Cooley offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and parental support benefits.
