Junior Paralegal Position

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a Junior Paralegal to join our Private Equity / M&A Group for a two-year term. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in attending law school to gain valuable legal experience. The Junior Paralegal will work closely with our legal staff and assist in various tasks related to due diligence investigations, document production, and transactional closings. This role may require long hours and travel.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with the formation of new corporate entities and corporate governance
- Support paralegals with closings by drafting ancillary closing deliverables and corporate authorization documents
- Prepare and complete UCC search requests and compile information into a UCC lien summary
- Conduct legal research
- Perform clerical tasks as needed
- Commitment to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays, and potential for extended periods of time
- Must be available to travel

Qualifications:

- Strong interest in corporate law
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with staff, attorneys, paralegals, clients, and vendors
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Acute attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Document Management Systems
- Knowledge of Carpe Diem and Westlaw is a plus
- Must be available for overtime
- California applicants must meet the California Business and Professional Code, Section 6450 (c) requirements
