Responsibilities:

- Handle a heavy caseload before Administrative Law Judges and the Board
- Provide advice to internal clients regarding employee discipline, USERRA, Wounded Warrior Leave, and other military-related matters
- Provide training and representation to clients nationwide
- Conduct legal research and prepare written materials for use in representing the Postal Service
- Participate in conferences and directly advise postal management officials
- Prepare replies to inquiries and opinions, memoranda, decisions, regulations, testimonies, or formal filings
- Communicate orally and in writing, negotiate with third parties, and prepare legal documents and presentations

Requirements:

- Must be a . citizen or have permanent resident alien status
- Must possess a Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association accredited law school
- Must be a current member in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Bar Association
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in legal practice, with at least 2 years of experience litigating before administrative agencies or federal courts in highly complex or large-scale employment law matters, or advising very senior clients in large organizations about complex employment law issues affecting all or significant portions of a large and diverse workforce
- Experience in handling MSPB matters should be specifically documented in the applicant's resume
- Knowledge of employment law including Title VII, ADA, ADAAA, FMLA, ADEA, and FLSA is required
