Law Firm Seeking Director of Docketing Services: Salary Information, Job Description, and Qualifications H1: Director of Docketing Services - Husch Blackwell LLP H2: Lead Docketing Teams for IP and Litigation Practice Specialty Centers Husch Blackwell LLP, a full-service law firm with multiple locations across the United States, is seeking a Director of Docketing Services to join their team. This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work remotely or in any of their locations. As the Director of Docketing Services, you will lead the firm's docketing teams for the IP and Litigation practice specialty centers. You will work closely with firm leadership and Practice Specialty Center leaders to provide thought leadership and development to this function. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten years of legal docketing experience within a law firm environment. Responsibilities: - Directly supervise the Docketing Managers and manage the docketing staff and all docket-related services. - Provide direction, development, and oversight of docketing services across the firm. - Serve as a resource and subject matter expert on docketing services and procedures to firm leadership. - Identify and analyze docketing technologies, trends, and best practices across the profession and implement them at the firm. - Build relationships with attorneys and serve as a resource and subject matter expert on docketing. - Collaborate with PSC Leaders and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with established rules and procedures. - Audit docket entries for accuracy. - Maintain and ensure the proper maintenance and integrity of docketing databases and systems. - Proactively engage with attorneys and leaders to address docketing concerns. - Lead, supervise, and develop a cohesive team of docketing professionals. - Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs for the docketing teams. - Ensure consistent application of firm policy and adherence to risk management guidelines. - Research and communicate current rule changes and e-filing requirements. - Participate in professional organizations to stay updated on rule changes and procedures. - Oversee departmental budgets and performance reviews. - Direct and oversee hiring, firing, promotions, and creation/elimination of positions within the docketing teams. - Work on ad hoc projects as needed. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. - Minimum of ten years of legal docketing experience within a law firm environment. - Demonstrated subject matter expertise in docketing rules, practices, and procedures. - Proficiency with docketing databases, preferably CompuLaw and Pattsy. - Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds. - Intellectual curiosity and commitment to innovating and enhancing practices. - Strong organizational and prioritization skills. - Ability to work under pressure and handle conflicting circumstances. - Non-hierarchical approach and ability to build consensus. - Strong integrity, maturity, and fairness in dealing with people and confidential information. - Strong influencing capabilities and sound judgment. Compensation and Benefits: The compensation for this position will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
