- Provide patent prosecution support for Intellectual Property lawyers
- Work independently in a computer-based environment

Skills and Proficiencies:
- . Patent Prosecution experience
- Assist with preparation of patent application documents and electronic filing
- Assist with prosecution of patent applications and manage client documents
- Review and manage docket deadlines and complete status checks
- Manage timely payment of maintenance fees and correspond with foreign counsel
- Prepare reporting letters and file Information Disclosure Statements
- Experience with Inter Partes Review
- Knowledge of PCT Rules and Regulations for Foreign Patent Prosecution

Preferred Skills and Proficiencies:
- Experience with trademark portfolios and other practices
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved school
- 5-10 years of patent prosecution experience in a mid- to large-size law firm
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe
- Strong communication and written skills
- Able to work overtime and travel if necessary

K&S is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to join their team in either Atlanta or Houston. This position will provide patent prosecution support for lawyers working in the chemical, mechanical, and electrical arts, as well as in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in . and foreign patent prosecution, as well as experience with Inter Partes Review and PCT Rules and Regulations. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work independently in a computer-based environment, while also maintaining positive contact with clients and observing confidentiality of client matters.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation of patent application requisite documents, including electronic filing
- Manage prosecution of patent applications and client documents for execution
- Review and manage docket deadlines and complete status checks
- Correspond with foreign counsel regarding new patent filings and related prosecution deadlines
- Prepare reporting letters to client and file Information Disclosure Statements
- Conduct database searches for patent, assignment, and security lien status
- Respond to various client requests and maintain patent status charts
- Assist transaction teams with searches
- Maintain close direct client relationship

Preferred Skills and Proficiencies:
- Experience with trademark portfolios and other practices
- Bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA preferred; paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved school preferred
- Approximately 5-10 years of patent prosecution experience in a mid- to large-size law firm
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe
- Strong, concise communication and written skills
- Able to work overtime, including weekends, sometimes as needed, without notice
- Some travel may be necessary
- Able to lift boxes that weigh up to 20 lbs.; able to sit or stand for long periods of time
