The Labor & Employment Group of Locke Lord, a law firm located in Houston, Texas, is currently seeking a highly qualified individual to join their team as an associate or senior counsel. This position offers an exciting opportunity for meaningful responsibility and experience in employment law matters, making it an ideal fit for a candidate with 2+ years of experience in the field.

The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials and must be admitted to the bar in Texas or preparing for admission through reciprocity with another state. They should also have a strong background and experience in employment law, with a focus on issues such as hiring and separation, wage and hour, EEO, non-compete and trade secrets, employment policies and agreements, due diligence for corporate transactions, employee accommodation and leave issues, investigations, public accommodation access for persons with disabilities, and OSHA.

Responsibilities for this position will include employment-related counseling, transactional drafting, and litigation matters, including both single plaintiff and collective/class actions. The candidate should possess strong research and writing skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and present on employment law issues.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal counsel and advice on a variety of employment law matters
- Draft and review employment-related policies, agreements, and contracts
- Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law issues
- Represent clients in employment-related litigation matters, including single plaintiff and collective/class actions
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to provide comprehensive and effective legal solutions
- Stay current on changes and developments in employment law and advise clients accordingly

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the bar in Texas or preparing for admission through reciprocity with another state
- 2+ years of experience in employment law, preferably with a focus on issues such as hiring and separation, wage and hour, EEO, non-compete and trade secrets, employment policies and agreements, due diligence for corporate transactions, employee accommodation and leave issues, investigations, public accommodation access for persons with disabilities, and OSHA
- Strong academic credentials and research and writing skills
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
