Law Firm Seeks Experienced Personal Injury Defense Paralegal Wilson Elser's New York Midtown office is currently seeking an experienced and certified Personal Injury Defense Paralegal to join their team. This position entails being part of a team-oriented approach, working with attorneys and paralegals to coordinate the evaluation and resolution of each matter. The Firm Wilson Elser is a full-service and leading defense litigation law firm with over 1,000 attorneys across 42 offices in the United States and one in London. Qualifications Must have a Bachelor’s degree, and Paralegal certification is preferred Must have 2+ years of New York State Litigation experience, with Personal Injury claims Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, as well as, document management systems Clear and effective communication skills both orally and in writing Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Must be able to work both independently and in a team mindset and be proactive Must be able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands daily Medical Record interpretation and summaries experience preferred Legal Research (Lexis, Westlaw) proficiency preferred Responsibilities Professional written work product, with ability to concisely explain what matters most and why – for audiences that will include clients, courts, and litigant counsel Interaction with investigators: including evaluation of claim needs in line with goals, and communication and supervision of investigation process Interact with client contacts for information, document, and witness information gathering, evaluation, and assessment as bears on investigation and discovery process and resolution strategies Medical record interpretation, evaluation, and summarization of contents as matters to critical liability, damages, and discovery issues Written discovery demand and response preparation and compliance supervision – both internal and external Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties and co-defendants Determine, prepare and organize materials needed for court appearances, pleadings, depositions, and trial preparation Determine, prepare and organize material needed for expert witness review Witness interaction for critical information gathering, and deposition process Discovery and substantive motion support, such as drafting and preparing, as commensurate with skill set The annualized salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000.
