H2: About the Position: - Department: Staff - Location: Miami/Coral Gables, FL - Salary Range: N/A (competitive compensation and benefits package offered) - Workplace Type: Hybrid Duties and Responsibilities: - Review and manage case files from start to finish - Prepare initial discovery requests - E-File in both State and Federal Court systems - Monitor deadlines and prepare responses to discovery requests - Draft legal documents such as briefs and pleadings - Investigate facts as requested by attorneys - Prepare case and medical chronologies, agreements, and deposition summaries/abstracts - Draft and follow-up on subpoenas - Review and analyze medical records - Attend trials when necessary Qualifications and Prior Experience: - Bachelor's degree preferred - Minimum of 5 years of insurance defense experience required - Experience with trial preparation and participation - Knowledge in areas such as insurance defense, business, and product liability defense litigation - Proficiency in internet, Excel, and Microsoft Word software - E-Filing experience in State and Federal Court systems - Strong writing and editing skills - Ability to listen and seek clarification - Problem-solving and analytical skills - Attention to detail and accuracy - Proactive and able to work independently - Team player with excellent communication skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Accepts responsibility and follows through on commitments Note to Agencies and Applicants: - Applications must be submitted directly by the candidate; no applications from search firms will be accepted at this time.
