Law firm, Saul Ewing, is currently seeking an experienced trust and estate practice assistant to join their team in Baltimore. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including medical, dental, and 401(k) options. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of legal administrative assistant experience and knowledge of estate planning documents and concepts.

As a trust and estate practice assistant at Saul Ewing, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to assigned attorneys. This includes creating and editing complex documents, proofreading and redlining work for accuracy, and managing client and internal files. You will also be responsible for reviewing bills, reconciling and submitting attorney expenses, and assisting with probate administration paperwork and filings.

To be successful in this role, you must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. You should also have a typing speed of 60+ words per minute and excellent communication skills. The ability to meet deadlines, handle a high volume of work accurately, and display strong organizational skills is also essential.

In addition to the essential functions of the role, the individual in this position may also be asked to provide additional assistance and support as directed by their supervisor. This job description is subject to change at any time.

The physical demands of this position include remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time, repetitive movement (such as heavy computer and keyboard use), and occasional light lifting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and preferably 5+ years of legal administrative assistant experience. Experience with document management, time and billing, client matter intake, and e-filing systems is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create and edit complex legal documents with accuracy and timeliness
- Review bills and prepare transmittal letters to clients
- Maintain client and internal files in the firm's document management system
- Open and review incoming mail and respond as needed
- Reconcile and submit attorney expenses
- Proactively manage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings and appointments
- Manage incoming and outgoing electronic communications
- Maintain attorney contacts and process client matter intake forms
- Assist with probate administration paperwork and filings
- Communicate with clients and professional advisors regarding estate administration

Qualifications:

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Typing speed of 60+ words per minute
- Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
- Strong client service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle a high volume of work accurately
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of legal administrative assistant experience
- Experience with document management, time and billing, and e-filing systems
- Knowledge of estate planning documents and concepts
- Experience in local probate administration
