Summary:

The Law Firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paralegal to join our team. The position is full-time and will be based in one of our locations in Rochester, Pittsburgh, Boston, Philadelphia, or New York. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of progressive patent prosecution experience and a college degree or equivalent specialized training in paralegal studies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure policies and procedures are followed in relation to assigned duties
- Monitor and follow-up on docket dates and provide timely responses to clients and attorneys
- Create and forward formal documents to clients according to schedule
- Prepare administrative documents for final review and approval by supervisory patent attorney
- Receive and act upon client instructions
- Review client information and ensure special instructions are followed
- Create and maintain electronic worksheets for attorney use
- Provide support for Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings and appeals
- Process assignments and name changes in the . and internationally
- Draft routine correspondence and formal documents for filing with the USPTO
- Maintain and prioritize daily work and communicate any issues
- Utilize electronic resources effectively
- Provide back-up support to team members if needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Familiarity with US and international patent law
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in USPTO procedures and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and produce accurate work
- Willingness and flexibility to work with all departments
- Strong PC knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Organizational and administrative skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to identify and solve complex issues
- Ability to provide quality client service
- Ability to retrieve and carry items weighing less than 25 pounds

Education and/or Experience:

- Minimum of 4 years of progressive patent prosecution experience
- College degree or equivalent specialized training in paralegal studies
