Law Firm Seeking Patent Specialist with Minimum 2 Years Experience in US Patent Prosecution Are you a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures? Do you have a minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution in a law firm or in-house legal environment? Kilpatrick, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Patent Specialist to join our Intellectual Property Department in our Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Houston, Dallas, or Denver office. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities: - Provide support in all phases of US patent prosecution, working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and clients - Prepare, review, and file US and PCT patent applications, responses, and issue fees - Draft correspondence to clients regarding patent application status - Report USPTO and PCT correspondence and notifications - Manage client portfolios and act as a single point of contact for clients - Review and file documents and emails in firm's document management system - Complete special projects as assigned - Perform a variety of patent-related administrative tasks Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution as a paralegal, legal secretary, or comparable position - Experience with electronic filing procedures at the USPTO - Excellent knowledge of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures - High level of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and patent office electronic filing systems - Strong client service skills and ability to collaborate with others - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously - Respect for confidentiality of client information - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure - Strong written and oral communication skills - Positive and flexible attitude - Willingness to adapt to change Kilpatrick offers a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of in-office and remote work days.
