Law Firm Seeking Patent Specialist with Minimum 2 Years Experience in US Patent Prosecution

Are you a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures? Do you have a minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution in a law firm or in-house legal environment? Kilpatrick, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Patent Specialist to join our Intellectual Property Department in our Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Houston, Dallas, or Denver office. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

- Provide support in all phases of US patent prosecution, working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and clients
- Prepare, review, and file US and PCT patent applications, responses, and issue fees
- Draft correspondence to clients regarding patent application status
- Report USPTO and PCT correspondence and notifications
- Manage client portfolios and act as a single point of contact for clients
- Review and file documents and emails in firm's document management system
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Perform a variety of patent-related administrative tasks

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution as a paralegal, legal secretary, or comparable position
- Experience with electronic filing procedures at the USPTO
- Excellent knowledge of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures
- High level of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and patent office electronic filing systems
- Strong client service skills and ability to collaborate with others
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Respect for confidentiality of client information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Positive and flexible attitude
- Willingness to adapt to change

The salary range for this position is to per hour in North Carolina, to per hour in Georgia and Texas, and to per hour in Colorado.
