Key Responsibilities: - Monitor client adherence to the IDEA through various activities such as RDA reviews, Comprehensive Monitoring, Targeted reviews, and oversight of the Virginia Alternate Assessment Program. - Develop reports to inform client school divisions on regulatory matters. - Oversee the completion of corrective action plans. - Provide technical assistance, resources, and agency linkages to client school divisions. - Offer continuous support to client school divisions in areas such as special education program administration, curriculum, data analysis, and evidence-based practices. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 15 years of experience in education law within a legal department, department of education, or law firm. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Thorough understanding of relevant regulations, including the IDEA, Virginia's special education regulations, the Every Student Succeeds Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and FERPA.
