Junior Paralegal – Private Equity/M&A (June 2024 Start) The Kirkland & Ellis law firm is seeking a Junior Paralegal for their Private Equity/M&A Group to start in June 2024. This two-year position will provide the opportunity for individuals interested in law school to gain prior legal experience. The firm is known for their market-leading practices in private equity, M&A, investment fund formation, alternative asset management, restructurings, and high-stakes litigation. With over 6,500 employees and 20 offices worldwide, Kirkland & Ellis is one of the largest and top-performing law firms in the world. Essential Job Functions: - This position will support paralegals and attorneys in the Private Equity/M&A Group. - Duties include managing and organizing materials and information related to specific matters and transactions. - Tasks may include assisting with due diligence investigations, document productions, and transactional closings. - This role may require long hours and travel. - The Junior Paralegal will assist with the formation of new corporate entities, corporate governance, and closing duties. - They will also conduct legal research and perform clerical tasks as needed. - Overtime availability is a must. Qualifications & Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required. - The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in corporate law. - Excellent communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently and as a team, multitask, and prioritize in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. - Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and a Document Management System, are required. - Overtime availability is a must.
