Summary:

UnitedHealthcare is seeking a talented and experienced Associate General Counsel to join their Legal, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (LCRA) team. This role will focus on providing legal advice and counsel to the business operations of the organization, with a particular focus on digital innovation, technology, and core operations. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate degree and at least 6 years of professional legal experience, with a background in health plan or managed care experience preferred. This is a remote position with a salary range of $124,500 to $239,400 annually, plus comprehensive benefits and incentives.



Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and counsel on federal and state legal/regulatory requirements impacting the health care industry, with a focus on digital innovation, technology, and core operations.
- Identify privacy, legal, and regulatory considerations for further analysis.
- Advise on risk management, consumer/customer inquiries, and service issues.
- Evaluate appropriate legal course of action to meet business objectives and advise senior legal and business leaders.



Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate degree and current and active license to practice law in at least 1 US jurisdiction.
- 6+ years of professional legal experience in a law firm or corporate environment.
- 3+ years of Health Plan experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications:

- Technology experience in areas such as consumer experience, consumer protection laws, privacy, email, electronic communications, accessibility, digital marketing, or artificial intelligence.
- Background in health insurance and/or managed care industry.
- Background in legal and regulatory matters impacting the health care industry, particularly in topics such as ACA, ADA, Sections 504 and 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act, ERISA, TCPA, and more.
- Ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs.
- Proven success in collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment.
