Job Title: Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense Litigation

Litchfield Cavo LLP, a premier insurance coverage and litigation defense law firm, is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing team in Providence, RI. We offer a competitive salary range of $105k - $130k annually, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a substantial caseload involving civil litigation and insurance defense matters such as General Liability, Premises Liability, Products Liability, Professional Malpractice, Discrimination, and Business Litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and prepare written discovery and dispositive motions.
• Take depositions of parties and witnesses.
• Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and communicate with clients, claim professionals, and opposing counsel.
• Participate in trial preparation, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
• Interact with clients, colleagues, and staff in a professional and respectful manner.

Qualifications:

• At least three years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Licensed to practice in Rhode Island state and federal district courts.
• Admission in Massachusetts state and federal courts preferred.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organization and prioritization abilities.
• Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Westlaw, and internet research.
