This is a full-time position at our Irvine office and offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $145,000, with additional benefits such as healthcare, vision, dental, and retirement plans. In this role, the Scientific Advisor – Patent Agent will work closely with our team of attorneys and assist with various aspects of the patent application process. The ideal candidate will have a technical degree in basic or applied sciences or engineering, with a Bachelor's in Engineering and a Master's degree in a scientific field preferred. A . is also preferred but not required. The position requires 5-10 years of patent prosecution experience, preferably in a law firm setting. The candidate must also have a valid USPTO Registration Number and possess detailed knowledge of USPTO filing requirements. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and file official correspondence with the USPTO, including initial application filings, responses to Office Actions, and Information Disclosure Statements. - Draft patent applications with clarity and technical accuracy, according to project parameters. - Communicate effectively with attorneys, office staff, clients, and patent examiners to aid in the prosecution of applications. - Provide technical analysis and assistance in IP due diligence and litigation. - Maintain a docket of due dates and ensure all deadlines are met. - Handle a majority prosecution docket while also assisting with patent litigation and Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings. Qualifications: - Bachelor's in Engineering and Master's degree in a scientific field (. preferred). - 5-10 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm setting. - Valid USPTO Registration Number. - Detailed knowledge of USPTO filing requirements. - Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
