The Law Firm of Anderson Kreiger is currently seeking an experienced legal assistant to join our team. This role will involve working with four or more attorneys across several departments, including litigation. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong knowledge of Massachusetts state and federal rules of civil procedure.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a legal assistant, you will be responsible for assisting attorneys with various tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of the litigation department. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and filing pleadings and motions in Massachusetts state, federal, and appeals courts, as well as federal district and appeals courts through ECF, including in other jurisdictions such as California and Washington .
- Performing administrative duties such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
- Assisting with editing legal documents and drafting and editing correspondence.
- Opening new matters, drafting engagement letters, and processing check requests and reimbursement expenses.
- Entering attorney time as requested.
- Assisting with the preparation of RFPs and maintaining requirements of client contracts.
- Reviewing, editing, and sending out billing invoices in accordance with firm and client requirements.
- Managing, organizing, and maintaining documents in electronic filing systems.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts state and federal rules of civil procedure.
- Experience with electronic filing and use of PACER.
- Commitment to high standards with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients professionally and collaborate well with a team.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with iManage is preferred.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications and prior experience:

- Five or more years of experience working as a litigation legal assistant.
- A strong understanding of Massachusetts state and federal rules of civil procedure.
- Experience with electronic filing and use of PACER.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred.

Salary Information:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to salary, we also offer generous benefits, including a 401(k) match. Currently, we are offering a hybrid work schedule, with the ability to work from home up to two days per week.
