Law Firm Seeking Experienced Litigation Legal Assistant for On-Site Position in Fort Lauderdale

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, edit, and proofread various legal documents
• Manage and assist with complex document production
• Draft pleadings and correspondence
• File documents with various courts, both traditional and e-filings
• Prepare documents for mandatory e-filing in state and federal courts
• Create tables of contents and authorities with accuracy
• E-file in federal courts and Court of Appeals
• Prepare and finalize discovery requests and responses
• Communicate with court staff regarding various issues
• Maintain calendars and track deadlines for cases
• Schedule meetings, depositions, and conference calls
• Coordinate court reporter and videographer for depositions
• Scan and upload documents to Neos
• Assist with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks and coordinating copy jobs
• Answer phone calls and take detailed messages
• Provide follow up and interact with clients, outside counsel, and others as requested
• Other duties as needed to support the firm and office operations

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm setting
• Litigation experience preferred
• Exceptional organization skills
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
• Teamwork oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
• Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently with limited guidance

Salary Information: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Experience Information: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm setting is required for this position.
