Law Firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join their Intellectual Property & Technology (IP&T) practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience of independently preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the computing and/or electrical arts. Responsibilities:

Invention harvesting
Meeting with clients to discuss invention disclosures, patent strategy and ongoing prosecution matters
Evaluating technology
Preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications
Assisting with opinion writing
Client counseling
Litigation support
Providing technical support for the practice

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (and preferably an advanced degree) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a closely related field
At least 5 years of experience of independently preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the computing and/or electrical arts
Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office
Previous law firm or in-house experience
Has a true love of and passion for technology
Is conscientious with proven attention to detail and strategic patenting
Possesses strong analytical skills and an ability to convey technical ideas clearly, concisely, persuasively and effectively
Embraces client service, teamwork, self-improvement, takes ownership of personal work product and works effectively with others
Has excellent writing skills, technical and otherwise
Exhibits professional confidence and an ability to work independently

Preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications
Assisting with opinion writing
Client counseling
Litigation support
