# Immigration Legal Assistant at Greenspoon Marder

Greenspoon Marder is a leading law firm that is looking for an Immigration Legal Assistant to join their team in New York. This role offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and legal support to the Immigration & Naturalization Practice Area.

## Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Immigration Legal Assistant will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

- Greeting clients and taking all client calls
- Calendaring and scheduling meetings, calls, and deadlines
- Receiving all incoming and outgoing mail, including ensuring all notices are scanned and saved to the case management system
- Sending out regular communication to clients regarding notices received from USCIS
- Organizing and filing of all applications, including copying, scanning, printing and organizing documents for cases, that are submitted to the USCIS, DOL or other government agencies
- Opening new clients, facilitating running conflicts and open matters
- Preparing engagement letters for new clients or self-pay matters
- Processing closing out matters and ensuring all bills are reconciled
- Tracking payments for retainers and other invoices and ensuring they are posted on the appropriate client accounts
- Following up on payments for invoices with outstanding balances
- Processing expense reports and invoices in ChromeRiver and coordinating check requests
- Working closely with billing coordinators for processing invoices and statements
- Editing and revising documents, including redlining, comparing, redaction and document indexing
- Entering Attorney time
- Editing and commenting on pre-bills preliminarily and ensuring client costs are posted and processed appropriately
- Following up and tracking case status on filings
- Coordinating shipment of important documents to clients
- Inputting documents and information into the file database and case management software
- Assisting in checking and retrieving client travel history and entry documents (I-94) from appropriate government website
- Communicating with clients to receive case relevant documentation
- Navigating the case management system to update information, input case numbers, and maintain client contact information
- Using case management system to prepare initial drafts of basic USCIS forms (. G-28, I-485, I-765, and I-131).
