Chapman and Cutler LLP in San Francisco is seeking a Finance Paralegal to join their finance-focused practice. This role will involve supporting attorneys in negotiating and closing financial transactions, as well as conducting research and maintaining documents. The firm is open to hiring individuals with transactional paralegal experience, but is also willing to train motivated individuals who are interested in learning about the practice. This is a great opportunity for those looking to gain experience in a law or professional services firm environment. Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide direct support for financial transaction closings by drafting and maintaining a closing checklist, ordering and reviewing corporate records, title, lien and litigation searches, and summarizing findings for review by attorneys. - Draft basic closing documents and first drafts of primary transaction documents. - Review contracts and other materials and summarize findings on specific questions. - Prepare and distribute signature pages and closing sets. - Draft and file UCC financing statements. - Conduct research in document management systems and online to find precedent documents, reports, legal memos, legislative materials, etc. - Set up, organize, and maintain materials in online data rooms and databases. - Communicate findings effectively to clients, attorneys, and staff. - Establish positive working relationships with coworkers and accept constructive feedback. - Work well under pressure and manage deadlines and multiple projects. - Be proficient in Excel, Word, and other document management programs (preferred). - Comply with all Firm policies and information security protocols. Minimum Qualifications: - . - Interest in financial transactions and strong interpersonal, analytical, research, and writing skills. - Commitment to client service. - Attention to detail and ability to work independently. - Professional presence and flexibility in work situations. - Ability to work well under pressure and manage deadlines and multiple projects. - Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other document management programs (preferred). - Committed to following all Firm policies and information security protocols.
