The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations. As a Legal Specialist II, you will provide legal support services for multiple states, enterprise-wide functions, and complex litigation. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of legal or related experience, and preference will be given to candidates with a Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field. Responsibilities: - Prepare, analyze, and evaluate legal documents such as contracts, legal memorandum, objections to subpoenas, regulatory filings, and pleadings. - Conduct legal research and analysis and recommend appropriate actions. - Perform fact-checking, gather documents, respond to subpoenas and record requests, and manage e-Discovery processes. - Monitor state and federal legislation and make recommendations for changes in regulations and laws. - Assist with regulatory governance and compliance issues. - Attend legal proceedings and represent the company under the supervision of counsel. - Participate in negotiations and strategizing with business and staff. - Enter information into appropriate databases or document management systems. - Serve as a resource to other support staff. Qualifications: - Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of legal or related experience. - Experience creating multi-state surveys of laws and regulations. - Familiarity with state and federal insurance and healthcare-related laws and regulations. - Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). - Experience working with provider contracts.
