Law Firm is looking for a highly qualified Patent Prosecution Associate or Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property Practice Group. The ideal candidate must have a mechanical engineering degree, USPTO membership, and IP experience with drafting and patent prosecution. Advanced degrees and/or work experience prior to law school is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: • 4+ years of experience as an associate or 5+ years of experience as a patent agent • Mechanical engineering degree • USPTO membership • IP experience with drafting and patent prosecution • Familiarity with machinery, mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems • IP transactional experience • Outstanding written and oral communication skills • Excellent academic credentials • Strong organizational and analytical abilities • Knowledge and experience with other forms of intellectual property protection (a plus) Responsibilities include: • Obtaining IP rights in the US and abroad • All aspects of global portfolio strategy and management • Working with a national/international client platform • Demonstrating superior client service ability This position is based in either Houston, TX or Atlanta, GA and offers competitive salary and benefits.
