Salary: $80,000 to $120,000 (dependent on experience) Experience: Minimum of 3 years of patent administration or paralegal experience in a law firm Job Summary: Ice Miller LLP, a top law firm, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Patent Paralegal to join their Intellectual Property group. This position will support attorneys and agents in all aspects of patent prosecution and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of patent administration or paralegal experience in a law firm setting. Job Duties: - Assist with preparation, filing, prosecution, and maintenance of all patent applications and patents - Knowledgeable of electronic filings via Patent Center, EFS-Web, EPAS, with the USPTO and ePCT with the IB - Manage worldwide client patent portfolios - Research the MPEP for solutions to procedural questions - Proactively manage patent prosecution dockets and follow-up on important dates - Prepare Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and analyze related cases for Supplemental IDSs - Assist with preparation of routine correspondence to clients and foreign associates - Prepare foreign filing cost estimates and pay maintenance fees - Assist with due diligence projects as needed - Coordinate with attorneys and accounting department for billing inquiries - Maintain electronic files and ensure all documents are properly stored - Maintain positive relations with internal clients and co-workers Minimum Requirements: - High School diploma - Minimum of 3 years of patent administration or paralegal experience in a law firm - Additional knowledge of trademark prosecution and/or IP litigation experience is a plus - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro - Familiarity with CPi docketing software is a plus - Excellent time management skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments - Proactive and able to identify and address problems quickly - Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently - Computer proficient, with intermediate or advanced experience using Microsoft Office products Salary Information: The salary for this position in New York is in the range of $80,000 to $120,000, dependent on experience level.
