We are currently seeking a Paralegal with 3+ years of estate administration experience to join our Wills, Trusts and Estates Team in Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester or Syracuse, NY. This is a hybrid remote opportunity, allowing for a flexible work schedule.

Job Title: Paralegal - Wills, Trusts and Estates
Location: Hybrid remote opportunity in Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester or Syracuse, NY

Responsibilities:

- Work on estate administration matters for both taxable and non-taxable estates
- Interact with clients in person, on the phone, via email and video conferencing
- Draft, edit, and review probate and administration related documents
- Assist clients with retitling assets
- Assemble and organize financial records for estate tax returns and audits
- Prepare, edit, and review estate tax returns
- Prepare fiduciary income tax returns and settlement papers for both informal and formal settlement of estates and trusts

Requirements:

- 3+ years of estate administration experience
- Experience preparing estate and trust accountings
- High level of initiative and ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a busy environment
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel

Qualities for Success:

- Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to exhibit patience and empathy with clients
- Ability to complete a minimum of 1400 billable hours annually
- Belief in the firm's core values: integrity, support, ingenuity, teamwork, and inclusion
- Comfortable working with diverse personalities within various levels of the firm
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (1 day remote)
