Job Description:

The Corporate Transactions Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the corporate legal team at DLA Piper. This position involves working with attorneys, paralegals, and clients on various corporate transactions, including financings, mergers & acquisitions, and new company formations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a basic proficiency in Word. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in business, corporate law, startups, and mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys, paralegals, and clients with corporate transactions
- Organize and maintain corporate/deal documents
- Prepare and update documents and spreadsheets
- Maintain accurate capitalization databases
- Prepare closing volumes
- Coordinate and track transaction signature collection
- Gather information from internal and external sources
- Maintain accurate corporate records
- Perform transaction research
- Assist in closing large transactions using electronic mail and signature collection
- Obtain documents and information from governmental agencies and public agencies
- Prepare and maintain checklists

Requirements:

- High School or GED
- 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic proficiency in Word
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines

Preferred Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Experience and/or interest in learning and working with cutting edge legal tools and software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
