Responsibilities of a Patent Agent – Life Sciences:

As a Patent Agent, you will work closely with our clients on all aspects of patent prosecution, including evaluating invention disclosures, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, and conducting landscape studies. Other responsibilities include collaborating with patent attorneys, receiving formal and informal training and mentorship, and working with attorneys across offices to serve US and international clients. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in our law school program while working as a patent agent.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will have an advanced degree in one of the following fields: cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, pharmacology, biophysics, or digital health. Previous law firm or industry experience is a plus. Candidates must also be qualified to sit for the USPTO patent bar and pass the exam prior to starting at the firm. LSAT and imminent plans to attend law school are strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $145,000 - $210,000, based on step level. Discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded. Our comprehensive benefits package includes healthcare coverage, wellness reimbursements, emotional and behavioral health support, family-building benefits, paid parental leave, career coaching, and more.
