Location: Multiple Offices (Columbus or Dayton)

The position will support the Personal & Succession Planning practice group and will work closely with the Partner and/or Associate on a given matter. Responsibilities:

- Prepare initial probate papers, value assets, and prepare inventories and accountings for court filings.
- Provide information on filing deadlines and other important dates.
- Communicate with courts and other agencies to process filings and record documents.
- Arrange distributions to beneficiaries and draft transfer documents for revocable trusts.
- Conduct research on state and county records for information on business entities and heirs.
- Meet with Probate Court Magistrates as needed.
- Experience working with banks, county auditors, and other governmental agencies.
- Gather and organize gift and asset information for estate and gift tax returns.
- Coordinate with other professionals, such as accountants and financial advisors.
- Review brokerage statements and prepare reports for beneficiaries.

Requirements:

- Four-year degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for a degree in Paralegal Studies or a paralegal certificate.
- Familiarity with Ohio Probate Law and Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with relevant software, such as LEXIS, Estate Val XP, and Perfect Forms.
- Proficiency in drafting and revising documents with exceptional writing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion while carrying out duties with the highest quality and timeliness.
