This exciting opportunity is ideal for candidates who have a background in electrical engineering or biotechnology and prior experience in the area of patent law. As a Patent Agent, you will work closely with inventors on newly created products, assist in identifying patentable inventions, and research current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable work. You will also have the opportunity to draft patent applications with the assistance of the patent team, track the patent application process, and solve client challenges and needs. Key responsibilities include: - Working hand-in-hand with inventors on newly created products - Assisting in the identification of patentable inventions - Researching current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable work - Drafting patent applications with the assistance of the patent team - Tracking the patent application process from initial application to granted patent - Completing ability searches regularly - Solving client challenges and responding to client needs - Responding to office actions and corresponding with the . Patent and Trademark Office - Consistently meeting billable hour requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess strong competencies in decision making, communication, leadership, continuous learning, teamwork, and alignment to values. A Bachelor's degree in science or engineering is required, and a Master's degree or PhD is preferred. USPTO registration is also required, along with at least 3 years of professional experience. In terms of physical activity, the employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer. This job may also involve other duties not listed in the job description.
