Summary:

The Law Firm, DLA Piper, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Paralegal Specialist to join their team. This position is remote, but candidates must be based in one of the following locations: Palo Alto, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle, or Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have a and at least 10 years of experience as a Patent Paralegal. They should also possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as a strong understanding of patent prosecution life cycle and various patent filing requirements.

Job Title: Paralegal Specialist
Location: Remote
Salary Range: - per hour (depending on location)
Experience: 10+ years as a Patent Paralegal

Job Description:
- Review and manage daily docket reports
- Draft various documents including foreign filing/conversion reminder letters
- Prepare PCT applications and file them via ePCT
- Obtain national phase patent filing estimates
- Serve as a liaison between clients, inventors, outside counsel, and foreign associates
- Assist in research of chain of title, patent prosecution history, and patent family relationships
- Foster positive work relationships

Minimum Requirements:
-
- 10 years as a Patent Paralegal
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Understanding of patent prosecution life cycle and various patent filing requirements
- Ability to conduct patent searches
- Knowledge of Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) requirements

Preferred Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Fluent knowledge of PCT rules and requirements
- Experience with national/regional phase entry of PCT applications
- Knowledge of various filing platforms and databases
- Large firm experience

Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and third parties
- Produce deliverables and respond to correspondence in a timely manner
- Provide high-quality work product
- Meet deadlines and expectations
- Comply with firm policies and practices
- Engage in both physical and sedentary activity
- Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
- Sedentary work, involving sitting most of the time
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally

Work Environment:
- Remote work environment
- Occasional in-person meetings may be necessary
