Are you a self-motivated and intellectually curious scientist with an advanced degree in a life sciences field? Wilson Sonsini, a top law firm with a strong focus on patents and innovations, is currently seeking a Patent Agent to join our Life Sciences practice.

As a Patent Agent, you will work closely with our clients on all aspects of patent prosecution, including evaluating invention disclosures, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, and conducting landscape studies. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, both domestic and international, and collaborate with our experienced patent attorneys. We are seeking candidates with an advanced degree in cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, pharmacology, biophysics, or digital health focused disciplines. Previous law firm or industry experience is a plus, but not required. Our ideal candidate is someone who is entrepreneurial, driven, and has strong written and verbal communication skills.

At Wilson Sonsini, we offer a supportive and inclusive work culture, as well as a competitive salary range of $145,000 - $210,000, based on step level. To be considered for this position, candidates must be qualified to sit for the USPTO patent bar and are required to take and pass the exam prior to starting at the firm. LSAT and imminent plans to attend law school are strongly preferred. Relocation is not available, and search firm submissions will not be accepted.
